ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm the Goober writing this Syndication...
My name is Brian Guo, and I am the lead syndicate of this Syndication. I rely on the people I encounter and this world we live in, to help underwrite the stories of this blog. Please follow along as I broadcast, from my camera lens and keyboard, my love for travel, finance, and people.
I grew up in suburban northern New Jersey, but I spent my summers traveling to Beijing to visit my father in China. There I was thrown into the deep end of culture, experiencing the foods and traditions of an emerging market on the cusp of a growth super-cycle. It was in China where I was first infected by the travel bug.
After graduating from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), I started my investing career at Bank of America U.S. Trust. There I progressed to a Portfolio Manager, where I aided in overseeing and investing $1.5 Billion of client capital. I am a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and this summer I will be starting my M.B.A. at Cornell University’s SC Johnson’s College of Management.
Outside of my fascination with people, their relationships, traveling, and nerding-out about finance, I play volleyball, enjoy mediocre music, attempt photography, binge podcasts (mostly about Technology), support the Los Angeles Lakers, study Leadership, and consume various ethnically delectable foods.
I call myself a conversationalist, so I am always free to chat/catch up over the phone, virtually, or over a beverage, caffeinated or alcoholic (although I don’t drink myself).
